Add an Armored Vehicle to Your Car Collection
We all know celebrities like to ride in style. Whether cruising Beverly Hills in a flashy sports car or riding the streets of New York City in a luxury SUV, actors, athletes and musicians tend to have the cream of the crop when it comes to a set of wheels.
A few celebs have even become extra famous for their extensive car collections. Comedian Jerry Seinfeld has a car collection valued at $15 million, according the TheRichest.com. His collection includes 47 Porsche cars – one of the largest Porsche collections in the world. A rare silver Porsche 959 – one of only 337 copies – cost a mere $700,000.
His cars are housed in a garage with high-tech temperature control and a private mechanic, the article explains.
Jay Leno, former host of NBC’s “Tonight Show,” has a collection of cars that’s tough to beat. Valued at $50 million (yes, $50 million), his collection includes a hundred cars and 50 motorcycles. Most of the cars are rare and antiques. Many of the cars are worth more than $700,000 but the most expensive is a $14 million custom Rolls Royce Silver Spur limo.
Rapper and entertainer T-Pain also has a garage filled with high-end cars, including a Rolls-Royce Phantom Drophead Coupe valued at $2 million, according to StarPulse.com. The collection also boosts a Ferrari F430 and Bugatti Veyron.
When celebrities spend millions of dollars on car collections, it begs the question: how secure are the cars they use for daily driving? Would-be stalkers, attackers or even criminals hoping to make a quick buck are aware of the net worth of these people, so just as they protect their cars in climate-controlled garages, they should be protecting themselves and their families from potential dangers.
The cost of an armored vehicle would be nothing compared to cost of their rare and collectable vehicles. But you can’t put a price tag on safety and security – and that’s why an armored car should be part of every car collection.
